Dear Parents,
We are heading into our final four weeks of this academic year and we have been busy planning for the year ahead. The children have continued to work hard in school and beyond, including at sporting events. This week we had teams competing in the Kowloon Cricket Tournament and the Athletics Meet at Tai Po. There was also the popular PTA Quiz yesterday – thanks to the teachers for volunteering to run this event. Tonight is our Summer Music Concert – it will begin in the playground with the Samba Percussion Group leading parents into the hall, so we are hoping that today’s rain showers pass over quickly. I look forward to seeing many of you at this event.

There will be a meeting at IS to discuss redevelopment and a number of other issues. They like to extend an invitation to the event to any interested members of our school community, particularly parents.
Time/date: 6:30pm on Monday 20 June.
Venue: Island School Hall
Agenda:
- Show some of the latest visuals on intended decant site refurbishment.
- Present the completed concept design of the new site. Aided by a ‘walk-through’ of the BIM model
- Reflect on parent and teacher feedback from the visits to the temporary relocation sites.
- Present the main findings and recommendations from the recent CIS:WASC 5 year review process.
- Present the headlines from the parent survey.
- Present the headlines form this year’s SDP

HKU Faculty of Education
HKU are offering a range of summer programs.
- Social Skills Game Education for kids in kindergarten;
- STEM / Visual Art 4-day Day Camp, with social games, mindfulness practice and heritage campus tour for P3-P6 students
- The summer programme for Creativity and Talent Development for Primary 1 to Secondary 6 students.

Cricket
On Wednesday 25th May the Beacon Hill cricket team played their first tournament of the year. For many of the team it was their first time playing competitive cricket. As the tournament progressed we improved in every match. I was most impressed with our bowling and fielding in the tournament and Mikail was chosen as our player of the tournament as he was our most consistent player. Thanks to the parents who came to watch.

Athletics
On Thursday 26th May 40 students from Year 5 and Year 6 took part in a friendly athletic meet with RCHK and Harrow. The students got to experience competing in various track and field events. Each student tried their best and represented the school admirably. As it was a friendly competition no results were kept. The highlight of the day were the relays where both the Year 5 and 6 girl relay teams were just pipped on the line. Thanks to Miss Cheung for assisting and coaching on the day.

Radio Television Hong Kong
This is an audition call from Radio Television Hong Kong. We are looking for talented children artists for their appearance on education television programmes.
Here are the requirements:
- Age 7 – 12 ,boys and girls,all nationality are welcomed
- English native speaker
- Experienced in stage performance ,TV/film or commercial (not necessary)
- Interested in TV production
- Willing to take challenge ,patient enough to taking orders and good team player
- Available to filming in late June-July 2016

Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras 2016: Auditions for Youth Dancers
我們歡迎14 至25歲的青年攝影師參與此計劃。你無須擁有豐富的攝影經驗，你只需一香港所有年青舞蹈員召集！齊來參與本會一年一度於11月舉行之大型戶外活動「渣打藝趣嘉年華2016 」，成為巡遊和舞蹈表演的一分子，讓你在鎂光燈下舞出光芒！
我們現正招募年齡介乎10至25歲，充滿熱誠、活力澎湃的年青舞蹈員，具備相關經驗者優先。面試名額先到先得，額滿即止。綵排將於今年8月底開始，並於11月12及13日一連兩日演出。
Calling all youth dancers! Come and be part of Standard Chartered Arts in the Park Mardi Gras 2016 this November. Show your moves and shine as the city gathers to celebrate the arts!
We are looking for young and energetic dancers aged between 10 and 25. Experience preferred, enthusiasm a must. Audition spots are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Rehearsals begin in late August with performances taking place 12 & 13 November.
