Dear Parents,

We have just two weeks left of this academic year with plenty still happening. Here are the important dates you need to know about.

IMPORTANT DATES

Last Monday we welcomed our new Year 1 students and their parents to school to meet their classmates and teachers and to find out more about what to expect when they begin in August. It was great to see them all and they seem confident and ready to begin their time at BHS.

This morning a small number of our Year 5 children joined a Maths Competition at Harrow School. Our two groups were great ambassadors for BHS and took part with great spirit. One of our two groups finished up in second place, behind Kellet. Well done to those children.

End of Year Reports will be available for parents from the evening of Monday 25th June. (via The Beacon for Year 1 and 2 students; via The Gateway for Year 3 to 6 students). These reports provide parents and students with information regarding academic and social progress and development. Please do take the time to read them and discuss with your child. We recommend you save and print off copies for future reference.

Have a lovely long weekend.

Primary Maths Team Challenge

Eight of our Year 5 children attended a Primary Maths Team Challenge on Friday, 15th June held at Harrow School.  The competition consisted of four tough rounds with questions covering all aspects of Maths.  There were teams from five different Primary Schools, with each school contributing two teams.  Our representatives were Isabel, Lianna and Divya from 5C, Jonathan, Ian and Chloe from 5D and Kwan Ho and Andy from 5F.  Mr. Pheasant and Mrs. Craig took the children and they were amazed at how well the children applied themselves and answered some very tricky questions. Well done to all of those who took part, but particular congratulations to Isabel, Ian, Kwan Ho and Andy as they came second in the whole competition.  A great effort!!
