Social and Emotional Learning
In assembly this week Ms Chung recapped on what it means to be an includer from last week and ways to show empathy. She then helped the children identify how to describe incidences when they go wrong and what to do in these situations. She shared with the students that usually when something goes wrong with other children it is usually:
- An accident
- Someone being rude
- Someone being mean
- Or someone is bullying.
The students shared a clear understanding about what bullying is and isn’t. This diagram helps to capture the main ideas. In our next assembly we will continue to focus on this and help children build strategies of what to do when they are faced with these 4 sorts of situations above.

Can you guess what is it? It is the Tiger. Do you know what are the two types of tiger normally found in China? Where do they live? What are the differences between them? Can you share with us a few unique things you know about tigers? Do you have a tiger toy at home that you want to bring to our Club? So Come join us on Monday and let’s talk about the magnificent Tiger.
Action in the PYP is when students are inspired through their learning and their experiences to make a difference to their lives or the community connected to real life issues and opportunities. We would like to celebrate our students taking action outside of school. If your child has taken any action, we would be happy to share that with the BHS community through this newsletter and through our Facebook page. Please email details and a photograph to firstname.lastname@example.org
At BHS we value the importance of developing the ‘whole’ child and this means valuing their achievement and interests outside of school. If your child has achieved something special, we would be happy to share that with the BHS community through this newsletter and through our Facebook page. Please email details and a photograph to email@example.com
