Sports Day – this week BHS held the Year 1 & 2 Sports Day and the kids had a great time!  It was very hot and sunny

so can you please remember to pack water bottles, hats and apply sunscreen before coming school on our Sports Day coming up next week. A summery PE kit might be in order too.  Can you also pls remember to complete the eNotice letting us know if your child will be coming back to school after the morning’s events?  Thanks so much.

PE Days – as we begin a new UOI next week you may find that your child’s PE days have changed.  This can be a bother but unfortunately, due to timetable changes, this can’t be helped.  Here are the days for PE for UOI 5.

5F – Tuesday and Thursday (Miss Fearn will email you if these days change unexpectedly through the UOI)

5C – Monday and Wednesday

5D – Monday and Tuesday

Can all children please remember to wear their PE kit on these days each week? Thanks.

BHS Dance Off
Our BHS Dance Off has been postponed until after Easter.  Our student council will be sharing more information next week.  Important things to remember for the Dance off are:
  • To have fun
  • You perform in groups or solo
  • Your dance should be around 1 minute
  • heats for the competition will take place at various lunchtimes after Easter
  • there will be a lower school and upper competition

You can support your child by helping them create and rehearse their dance.

Big Business – pretty much all of our time this week was focused on getting ready for today’s market stall, here’s what our week looked like in photos…

Thank you to everyone who can in today to support our Market Stall, it was a huge success!

When we find out how much money we raised for Immanuel Kindergarten we will publish it here on the Weekly Update.  Well done everyone!

More photos of this BB UOI and today’s market stall and sharing morning will be available soon and we will let you know where to find them.

5F did manage to squeeze in some art this week….all based on important things they learned about working in a successful team!

5C caught up with their Year 1 Buddies this week to help them prepare themselves for their big class assembly next Friday…

Number Maths– Next week we will be starting our new UOI on Pattern and Function – we did make time this week for the children to complete a Pattern and Function pre-assessment so that we can pitch all their learning engagements at the right level.
Here’s a little pattern discussion that you can have with your child at home to help get them warmed up for the next UOI.
Strand Maths – We also begin our new Strand Maths lessons on Angles.  Can all children please make sure they have a protractor at school for the next couple of weeks? Parents, could you please check in with them about this, this weekend.
We’ve worked hard on our viewing and presenting skills this week.  We’ve had dry-runs at setting up our table ready for the big day and finished making all our signage that we need to sell our products.
Next week we begin our new units of Non-chronological Reports as our writing genre and Determining Importance as a Reading Comprehension strategy.  More about these to come in the following few weeks.

This week our lucky Golden Book certificates winner are…

5C – Sofie Yeung

5D – Yi Wing Chan
