Year 6 Update Week 38

Wednesday 26th June – Production to parents

Thursday 27th June – Graduation

Friday 28th June – Last day of school for the summer, 12pm finish

 

 
 
 
 
Our Year 6 Graduation will be held on Thursday 27th June.  The in school ceremony will be starting at 11am, so please arrive no later than 10:45am to allow the children time to get to their classes.
 
Boys – suits, shirt and tie (at the very least) or traditional clothing, dress shoes
 
Girls – party dresses or traditional clothing, party shoes

A visit from Mr Melsom

The children worked hard to get the garden ready for the next academic year. They cut some over grown plants back and re-built the bamboo structure. Thank you eco-warriors!

Next week is the week that we have been working towards. We are excited to show the world what we have created. Prepare to be amazed next Wednesday night for the premier of Cinderella and Rockerfella!

An inquiry into…

Algebraic expressions to record the rules for patterns

The use of brackets and order of operations to write number sentences  

Continuing and creating sequences involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals

 

As part of their learning contracts, Year 6 will cover a range of Language inquiries. Some may choose to write their own fairy tale story, you might compare different characters from similar stories or you might look into the language features of advertising our production! We look forward to seeing what you create. 

 
For the last weekend, read over your scripts, start learning your lines for production and have a think about any costumes/ items you might be able to bring in from home!
