Year 2 Update Wk 35

Monday 26th June – Return Portfolios to school (unless leaving)

Friday 30th June – Last day of school, school finishes at 12pm.

Please let your class teacher know if you are planning on leaving for your holidays before this date.

The children worked very hard to make gifts, food and drinks to say ‘Thank you’ to all the parents who have helped during PMP and many other things at BHS over they year.

We have also been continuing our extra Information Literacy sessions with Ms Jeves, and the class has really enjoyed finding out about juicy questions and determining what’s important vs what’s only interesting when reading for information.

Central idea: Geography influences how individuals interact with their environment.

Lines of inquiry:

  1. The significant features of places -form
  2. How the features of a place influence our activities -function
  3. The relationship of our location to other parts of the world – connection

The children have selected countries or places that they would like to learn more about to create an informative travel brochure.

The children have begun crafting their information collected last week into interesting and persuasive sentences.
