Migration can have an impact on people and society

Lines of Inquiry:

  1. The reasons why people migrate (causation)
  2. Migration throughout history (causation)
  3. The challenges, risks and opportunities of migration (perspective)

migration-stories-9780946745234

Next week we will continue to work on our Drama frieze frames displaying the five stages of migration as well as introducing the idea of thought tracking. We will begin to apply our knowledge of synthesising, summarising and sourcing to our independent case studies. As we further our knowledge of different migration stories, we will aim to create our own perspective and causation questions to help us guide our research.

maths

There was no Golden Book this week due to school being closed.

homelearning

Home reading should continue as normal.

Children can also access Mathletics and Reading Eggpress throughout the half term break.

Homework is now handed out on Monday and due in on the Friday:
On a blank piece of paper or Google doc, write the words ‘MIgration is…’Underneath we would like you to write down keywords that relate to migration or show your understanding of what migration is. You only need to write down words, not sentences.
Then write a few statements to reflect what migrations means to you, how someone might feel during the stages of migration or what they might say or talk about if they were asked to describe their migration story.

Please remind children to bring their book bags to school on their library days so that they are borrowing library books on a weekly basis. Library books should be carried inside a book bag to keep them nice and safe
